Appearance or Reality — Surrealism in Film
Short film evening – accompanied by music from Yulia Mun (flute) and Jenny Meyer (harp).
Moderation: Uta Pape
What happens when objects suddenly take on a life of their own and draw us into a world suspended between dream and reality?
Three short films from 1927 to 1982 show how the familiar loses its order and new connections emerge. From playful interactions with objects to dreamlike transformations, the films unfold a dialogue about imagination and the hidden inner logic of things.
The programme is complemented by music featuring works by, among others, Debussy and Tournier. Here too, the compositions dissolve fixed forms and unfold fantastical worlds.
Look forward to an evening that awakens the senses and the imagination, inviting you to rediscover the familiar in new ways!
